Happy Friday
Those of you who have been reading my blog for awhile know how I love to give myself little challenges. Yesterday I thought to myself how tired I am of digging through the really ugly jewelry. This stuff is just plain ugly. I pull it all out on the table and told myself to make something or throw it away.
Waxed linen just happened to be in that same box and that was just perfect.
So I made a pouch out of the waxed linen and then began to embellish.
That little gold piece was an earring.
This is what I came up with. I would by no means call this a masterpiece, but I thought considering the junk it turned out pretty good. I'll wear it! The DH was not to crazy about it, but I never listen to him anyway.LOL.
Have a great weekend!

I love it and I think it is amazing. (I can't believe you called that stuff junk, it's treasure honey, Treasure.) NOw you have something to dress up jeans or to wear with a lil' black somethin' somethin' for a night out on the town.
Wow! This is SO creative and fun!
I love it, never throw away old beads, it is always great to reuse.
I think your necklace is fabulous

Kim, so beautiful. I love that organic sort of creativity, it often has happy results like this piece.
have a wonderful weekend.

Kim, you know I love you, but I almost reached into my monitor to strangle you when I read "throw it away". Whew, I made it through the rest of the post and realize that you came to your senses. I'm just kidding, sometimes it's hard to know what to do with stuff, but this is my kind of challenge. I love taking a bunch of leftovers from my work table and making something else. My hubs is just like yours, sometimes he just doesn't like something I've made, but I usually tell him he's nuts and go on about my business. Anyway, you did a great job with your self challenge. I like it just fine.
the pearls and your necklace is not junk..give perals to a little girl you know so then she can create a jewellery herself :)
Very creative...my daughter would love it.
You may not call it a masterpiece, but I call it something I would wear. It is long and funky and I love it! You have to be one of the most creative people! I should try this with some of the tons of old jewelry and beads I have. Very cool!
Kim, I have a very special award for you - please stop by my blog to pick it up.
Actually, I would call it way cool! And beautiful! An honest trash to treasure piece.
